Auditions for Frozen — Casting & Audition Process (Register Before Feb 10)
Auditions for Frozen are coming up, and we’re excited to see a wide range of performers step into the spotlight — whether you’re a seasoned stage wizard or this is your first time braving the audition tundra.
Audition Dates
Auditions will take place on:
Monday, March 2
Tuesday, March 3
Wednesday, March 4
Thursday, March 5
When you register, you’ll be asked to choose your preferred audition date(s).
Tip: It really helps if you can select more than one date — we’ll do our best to accommodate preferences, and multiple options make scheduling way smoother for everyone.
After you register, you’ll receive confirmation of your audition time from the Stage Manager shortly afterward.
What to Expect at Auditions
1) Solo Audition
You’ll attend an individual audition at your assigned time (details are outlined in the audition information sheet, including time blocks).
2) Group Dance Audition (Same Day)
On the same date as your solo audition, there will also be a group dance audition from 6:00–7:00 PM.
Yes, it’s on the same day. Yes, it’s a group. Yes, you’ll live.
(And no, you don’t need to be a dance machine — we’re looking for willingness, effort, and potential, not a human TikTok algorithm.)
3) Callbacks
Callbacks may be scheduled after initial auditions. Casting decisions are based on auditions and callbacks.
Casting Philosophy
All roles are open to consideration regardless of background, ethnicity, or sexual/gender orientation. Casting is based on who is best suited for each role through the audition and callback process.
Each character comes with different levels of physicality. If any scenes require physical intimacy, this will be addressed privately between the director and the actors, and approached carefully in rehearsal with a process that builds comfort and prioritizes safety for everyone involved.
Need an Online Audition?
An online audition option may be available only for post-secondary students enrolled outside of Simcoe County who can’t attend any of the in-person audition dates.
A couple important notes:
There is no online option for callbacks
If you need an online audition, still select your preferred audition dates on the form
Registration Deadline
There is still time to register… but not much.
Audition registration closes on February 10.
So if you’re thinking “maybe I’ll audition…” — that’s your cue. Register now, and future-you won’t have to panic-sprint through the deadline like Olaf running from a campfire.
